The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Fabiano Novaes during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Iupeba AD reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fábio Pimenta during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Iupeba AD booed when Marmeleiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fábio Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Enrique Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Eduardo Donato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Melo in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Eduardo Donato prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marmeleiro FC's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Donato, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Rui Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Melo struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Carlos Eduardo Donato was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rui Pontes to make the kick off. Leonel da Mata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Pontes in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Fábio Pimenta made a precise shot to the right of Leonel da Mata. When Luís Fabiano Novaes was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 85 minutes had been played. After 86 played minutes Iupeba AD got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Novaes. Paulão Romero's late challenge caught a Marmeleiro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulão Romero helped the player get up and apologised. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Iupeba AD! In the 90th minute there was a penalty for Marmeleiro FC. Wilson Ferraz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Leonel da Mata. 3-1. Enrique Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Marmeleiro FC had won after a very even match.
