If Isaltino Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilvan da Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaltino Couto in the 15th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Patrício Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capado's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrício Porto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guga Arce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Goias's Isaltino Couto got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Sílvio Luís Lima fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Capado's protests and gave Sílvio Luís Lima a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Capado's Sílvio Luís Lima got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Guga Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrício Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Waldemar Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot.
