Perivaldo Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis de Medeiros having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Bronco's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Elder de Brito fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wellington Souto to make the kick off. That was the end of his participation in the match. Lúcio de Godoi scored 2-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Clóvis de Medeiros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Atletico Potiguar walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
