The referee felt a red card was in order, 3 minutes into the game, when Aílton Rosa put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mataripe FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! Maurinho Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alan Cardozo charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alan Cardozo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th minute, Alan Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Washington Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurinho Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, Manoel Santos fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Eurico Silveira, passed just outside the right post. Goes FC's Washington Abreu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurinho Ortiz in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurinho Ortiz in the 29th minute of play forced Goes FC's goalkeeper Washington Abreu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Manoel Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manoel Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, Mataripe FC's Maurinho Ortiz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Washington Abreu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Maurinho Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Washington Abreu having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Maurinho Ortiz made the kick off in the second half. Duda Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Washington Abreu having to interfere. In the 55th match minute, Mataripe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio de Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. If Hamílton Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Goes FC's Alan Cardozo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eurico Silveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Maurinho Ortiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Maurinho Ortiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Washington Abreu having to interfere. Cássio de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Washington Abreu having to interfere. Hamílton Nascimento scored 2-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eurico Silveira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maurinho Ortiz couldn't finish the play. Eurico Silveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manoel Santos's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Manoel Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manoel Santos took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eurico Silveira. Eurico Silveira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mataripe FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Goes FC.
