Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cléberson do Vale in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rômulo Damião prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Graham Ealham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. The supporters of Amapá Sport Clube booed when Verdao SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedrão Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rômulo Damião showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cléberson do Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. With a little luck, Amapá Sport Clube's Benjamim de Queiroz got control of the ball when Arnaldo da Rocha tried to sneak it across the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Proença in the 70th minute of play forced Amapá Sport Clube's goalkeeper Benjamim de Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. João Ceresso took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benjamim de Queiroz. Benjamim de Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 81st minute Evandro Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamim de Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cléberson do Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Rômulo Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cléberson do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rômulo Damião having to interfere. Amapá Sport Clube's Graham Ealham got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rômulo Damião took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléberson do Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amapá Sport Clube were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Verdao SC to leave the ground with a draw.
