After a defensive mix-up in Ajapi's zone, Ivo Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ademir Nascimento came out of the goal and Ivo Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matheus Gaúcho charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matheus Gaúcho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ademir Nascimento didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivo Oliveira went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 17th minute, Matheus Gaúcho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Mucaja's Válter Branco broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Denílson de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Ajapi defense, Ivo Oliveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ademir Nascimento. The Ajapi fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ademir Nascimento should have stopped the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Luisinho Catarinense successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After the first half Mucaja were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cléber Figueiredo made a kick off. Luiz Paulo de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Ajapi getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Matheus Gaúcho hit a great ball. Ademir Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cléber Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 66 minutes into the match, Ajapi's goal looked a bit too open when Cléber Figueiredo came free, but Ademir Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Cléber Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Mucaja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cléber Figueiredo couldn't finish the play. Ademir Nascimento stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cléber Figueiredo's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute, Denílson de Almeida made a precise shot to the right of Luisinho Catarinense. Mucaja's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Cléber Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivo Oliveira got free with Ademir Nascimento in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded Mucaja left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ajapi.
