Bruno Secco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Juvenal Lima came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Chonim SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juvenal Lima couldn't finish the play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Britto made a kick off. If Juvenal Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Chonim SC defense, Jailson de Sena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simão Silveira. The Chonim SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simão Silveira should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that David Britto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simão Silveira was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 77th minute, Cacá Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silas Barral, 77 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Mucurepe FC's Fabrício Fantini got a free kick in the 80th minute. The referee ignored Chonim SC's protests and gave Gonçalo Abreu a yellow card for diving instead.
