Cachoeirinha's Natanael Meira got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luís Meirelles took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emílio Tinoco. Cachoeirinha's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Alan Melo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natanael Meira in the 45th minute of play. Zé Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Melo having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Cachoeirinha's Emílio Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ediberto Salgado in the 52nd minute of play. Alan Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natanael Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Romeu Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Geovani Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot. Embira's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovani Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emílio Tinoco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cachoeirinha's Emílio Tinoco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Cachoeirinha from getting a goal against them.
