After 13 played minutes Viseu got a freekick which was hit by Romeu Vale. In the 18th minute Romeu Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luís Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renato de Amaral hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Oticica FC's Pedro Luís Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Ramalho in the 23rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeu Vale in the 29th minute of play forced Oticica FC's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th match minute, Oticica FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Fausto Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Pedro Luís Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Luís Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romeu Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Romeu Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Viseu's supporters rose to their feet, but Romeu Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Luís Bertassi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Luís Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeu Vale, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Viseu's Fausto Ramalho collided with an opponent after 40 minutes. He was hit so badly that he fractured his arm. Amadeu Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amadeu Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Oticica FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Pedro Luís Bertassi had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Claudinei Macedo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Claudinei Macedo did an outstanding performance 43 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 0-1 to the right of an irritated Pedro Luís Bertassi in the goal. The Oticica FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Viseu were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romeu Vale to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ediberto Ferraz in the 64th minute of play forced Viseu's goalkeeper Tomé Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Viseu's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Magalhães came free, but Tomé Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Romeu Vale in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Luís Bertassi saved Oticica FC from getting behind. Reynaldo Silva hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Jonathan Magalhães's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomé Koehler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 89th match minute, Viseu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tião Freire to maneuver through the defense. 93 minutes into the match, Jonathan Magalhães had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomé Koehler. Viseu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonathan Magalhães was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Viseu's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
