The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Paulo Pirani got free with Luiz Paulo Tasso in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 8 played minutes Pupunhas got a freekick which was hit by João Torres. After a rather tough play, Pupunhas's Eduardo Novaes got a free kick in the 10th minute. Pupunhas's Alberto Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glauco Fontes in the 12th minute of play. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Centralito SC's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Tasso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luiz Paulo Tasso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Centralito SC's zone, João Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Paulo Tasso came out of the goal and João Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 27th minute, Eduardo Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberto Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandrinho Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Paulo Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Torres in the 33rd minute of the match. 33 minutes into the game, Glauco Fontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Centralito SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pupunhas the free kick. A collision led to Centralito SC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Glauco Fontes hit a great ball. In the 36th match minute, Centralito SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidnei Luz to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 40 minutes, João Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pupunhas's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Torres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sidnei Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Luiz Paulo Tasso didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 42nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. A collision led to Centralito SC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Júnior Meireles hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandrinho Arruda was the one to do the kick off. Luiz Paulo Pirani sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luiz Paulo Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Paulo Tasso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Paulo Pirani in the 68th minute of play forced Centralito SC's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Arósio made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Daniel Teles sent off a good shot on target. Eduardo Novaes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luiz Paulo Tasso. Centralito SC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Centralito SC's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Paulo Pirani came free, but Luiz Paulo Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Centralito SC's Deivid de Castro got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Centralito SC's goalkeeper Luiz Paulo Tasso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Torres in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Paulo Tasso saved Centralito SC from getting behind. Luiz Paulo Tasso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Paulo Pirani's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pupunhas fans cheered their team off the field, for while Centralito SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
