Favonio's attentive Edson Porto managed to snatch the ball when Remo Carvalho made a throw-in in the 33rd minute of the game. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carapana SS's goalkeeper Umberto Abreu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Carapana SS's Umberto Abreu got control of the ball when Agenor Simão tried to sneak it across the goal line. Magno Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurinho Mendes having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Valério Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurinho Mendes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Válbson Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Maurinho Mendes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Magno Lopes's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valério Albuquerque to strike the kick off in the second half. When Vivaldo Souza fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Favonio's protests and gave Vivaldo Souza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 55th match minute, Favonio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vivaldo Souza to maneuver through the defense. Favonio's Maurinho Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Favonio from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Carapana SS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
