Marquinhos Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Valdir Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valdir Tavares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldinho Pontes in the 6th minute of the match. After 12 played minutes Pontais SC got a freekick which was hit by Vitinho Pereira. Enéas Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Gino Mota received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Edu Batista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Marquinhos Félix had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdir Tavares. Imperatriz's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marquinhos Félix was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 35 minutes, Ronaldinho Pontes made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Imperatriz's Valdir Tavares tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ronaldinho Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Tavares having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Ronaldinho Pontes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valdir Tavares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Ronaldinho Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Tavares having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Enéas Cordeiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pontais SC's Marquinhos Félix got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 53 played minutes Imperatriz got a freekick which was hit by Isaltino Trevisan. Marquinhos Félix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ronaldinho Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luís Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Tavares having to interfere. After 67 played minutes Imperatriz got a freekick which was hit by Isaltino Trevisan. Pontais SC's Ronaldinho Pontes was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 68th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 71st play minute Ronaldinho Pontes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Valdir Tavares. 0-5. Marquinhos Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Valdir Tavares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Gino Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Valdir Tavares was a little too slow when Marquinhos Félix got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 98th minute. The score was now 0-6.
