Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Potengi's Marco Arce started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Glauco da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Glauco da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Beverini getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Antônio Carlos Dantas hit a great ball. When Marco Arce came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Potengi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Arce couldn't finish the play. Celso Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Arce in the 18th minute of play. Potengi's Egídio Cosme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Glauco da Mata in the 20th minute of play. Michel Motta scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Egídio Cosme, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dudu Montenegro hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Dudu Montenegro's late challenge caught a Beverini's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dudu Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Potengi's Dudu Montenegro got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 28 played minutes, Beverini's Álvaro Silveira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Egídio Cosme came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Beverini reached it. João Francisco Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Celso Rezende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celso Rezende didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marco Arce went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Glauco da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zacarias Zilles kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Glauco da Mata to strike the kick off in the second half. Álvaro Pereira hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After 55 minutes of play, Beverini's Glauco da Mata made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egídio Cosme was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Michel Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 73 minutes, João Francisco Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Potengi's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Francisco Mendes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Waldir das Neves hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Agostinho Alves hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the match, Beverini's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Arce came free, but Celso Rezende reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waldir das Neves got his second yellow card in the match during the 82nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Beverini booed when Potengi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldir das Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes in the game Agostinho Alves after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Egídio Cosme. A very good opportunity. João Francisco Mendes struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Celso Rezende didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Potengi. If Michel Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 92 played minutes Potengi got a freekick which was hit by Marco Arce. When Dudu Montenegro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 94 minutes had been played. Dudu Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The Beverini players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
