Gilson Palmeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Neto in the 17th minute of the match. The long shot by Matías Guimarães in the 19th minute really tested Gilson Palmeira's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The audience was convinced that Bernardinho Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vivaldo Severo was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Américo de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Vivaldo Severo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardinho Guimarães in the 44th minute of play. The Garajuva SS fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when Garajuva SS's Américo de Souza looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Américo de Souza to make the kick off. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, Jaguaraci's goalkeeper Vivaldo Severo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernardinho Guimarães. Gilson Palmeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diogo Neto in the 72nd minute of play. Diogo Neto scored 1-1 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilson Palmeira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bernardinho Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Esteves in the 83rd minute of play forced Garajuva SS's goalkeeper Gilson Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Américo de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Jaguaraci's Álvaro da Silveira got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Américo de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
