After a defensive mix-up in Poranga's zone, Dedé Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noel Paraense came out of the goal and Dedé Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Richard Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betão Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Richard Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Peres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th match minute, AC Dragões Negros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Domingues to maneuver through the defense. Richard Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão Peres in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dedé Medeiros was the one to do the kick off. Poranga's supporters rose to their feet, but Betão Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richard Arruda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Betão Peres kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Richard Arruda. That made the score 1-2 in the 76 minute of play. Poranga's Noel Paraense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dedé Medeiros in the 81st minute of play. Richard Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betão Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruninho Lago got free with Richard Arruda in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
