In the 66th minute of the match Fabrício Romero sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Faustão Mesquita skillfully saved the ball. If Gino de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Faustão Mesquita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Tabaco EC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Aloísio Medeiros hit a great ball. Faustão Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano da Silveira in the 83rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tabaco EC's zone, Kléber das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Faustão Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Medeiros, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Luciano da Silveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Faustão Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Luciano da Silveira came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Tabaco EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano da Silveira couldn't finish the play. If Gino de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 97th match minute, Araruama SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafa Donato to maneuver through the defense. Luciano da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Faustão Mesquita having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gino de Souza in the 100th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Faustão Mesquita saved Araruama SS from getting behind.
