No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 52nd match minute, Rio Claro F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerson Diniz to maneuver through the defense. Diogo Arce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Valdir Maciel made a huge save. Valdir Maciel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeu Quintal, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vânderson Pirani in the 89th minute of play forced Bugre SS's goalkeeper Tomé Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Diogo Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bugre SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdir Maciel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Bugre SS players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Rio Claro F.C..
