But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Váldson Guerra couldn't finish the play. Murillo Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Lino Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Aruata FC booed when Torneiras F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arí da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 28 minutes of play, Torneiras F.C.'s Adalberto Hoffmann made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cafu Marques was left in no man's land by his defense there! Adalberto Hoffmann who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Cafu Marques when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Adalberto Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cafu Marques having to interfere. But to his dismay, Adalberto Hoffmann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Murillo Sampaio to strike the kick off in the second half. Murillo Sampaio might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulo Renato Dionísio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Murillo Sampaio ran back to his position shaking his head. Torneiras F.C.'s Adalberto Hoffmann got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lino Viana succeeded in the game's 58th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. After 62 played minutes Torneiras F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Faria. Cafu Marques stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lino Viana's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Adalberto Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Aruata FC's Zé Roberto Miranda got a free kick in the 70th minute. Aruata FC's Cafu Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Viana in the 73rd minute of play. If Adalberto Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 79th minute, Lino Viana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cafu Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alessandro Faria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Lino Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Hoffmann in the 88th minute of play forced Aruata FC's goalkeeper Cafu Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Lino Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torneiras F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Lino Viana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cafu Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lino Viana took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cafu Marques. Cafu Marques dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Torneiras F.C. had played much better football throughout.
