Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tadeu Quaresma kicked off to start the match. Flávio Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Artur Cordeiro came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Nova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artur Cordeiro couldn't finish the play. If Flávio Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubens Dracena came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Nova's Flávio Jacinto. But to his dismay, Flávio Jacinto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 16 minutes, Gugu Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gugu Diniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th match minute, Nova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Diniz to maneuver through the defense. Gugu Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rubens Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice moves Romário Matos could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Régis Leal however easily saved by the left post. Romário Matos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Régis Leal having to interfere. Rubens Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flávio Jacinto in the 27th minute of the match. Giovanni Rosado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Régis Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Flávio Jacinto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Orleaes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeu Quaresma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 54 minutes into the match, Tadeu Quaresma notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Nova's Régis Leal. Régis Leal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Régis Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romário Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Régis Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Matos in the 61st minute of play. After 63 minutes, Almir Santana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orleaes and the Nova players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Almir Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tarcisio Monteiro helped the player get up and apologised. Nova's Vânderson Travassos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Rubens Dracena but with some difficulty. Rubens Dracena stood somewhat misplaced when Flávio Jacinto came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 73 minute. Flávio Jacinto struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Rubens Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nova. Romário Matos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Régis Leal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Nova defense, Tadeu Quaresma kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Régis Leal. The Nova fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Régis Leal should have stopped the shot. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
