Nova's Flávio Jacinto got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Flávio Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Artur Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cujuhim's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Flávio Jacinto 16 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Célio Proença sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 24th match minute, Nova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Diniz to maneuver through the defense. Célio Proença recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Nova booed when Cujuhim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeca Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Flávio Jacinto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benjamin Peixoto, 2-0. Célio Proença blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Régis Leal having to make a save. Falcão Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Régis Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Gonçalo de Mendonça charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gonçalo de Mendonça the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gonçalo de Mendonça hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Benjamin Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flávio Jacinto in the 55th minute of play. Nova's Artur Cordeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benjamin Peixoto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Cordeiro in the 65th minute of the match. In the 70th minute of the match Wilian Cunha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benjamin Peixoto skillfully saved the ball. In the 72ndth minute of the game Artur Cordeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cujuhim's Benjamin Peixoto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 79th match minute, Nova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valério Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. Nova's Régis Leal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Nova from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Cujuhim's zone, Humberto Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Peixoto came out of the goal and Humberto Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Cujuhim's Zeca Severo got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute Flávio Jacinto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Peixoto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artur Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Peixoto having to interfere. Flávio Jacinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nova's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
