In the 18th minute Sebastião Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Edmílson Tavares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Elivélton Braga in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnaldo Duarte prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastião Neves in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnaldo Duarte saved Inhumas from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Inhumas's zone, Elivélton Braga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnaldo Duarte came out of the goal and Elivélton Braga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 37 minutes into the match, Inhumas's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastião Neves came free, but Arnaldo Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldinho Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elivélton Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Duarte having to interfere. In the 41st match minute, Inhumas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Túlio Tasso to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute Sebastião Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacinto da Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Arnaldo Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The Camelo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elivélton Braga got free with Arnaldo Duarte in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After taking down the ball on Camelo's corner Deivid Arruda fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnaldo Duarte quite easily take care of the ball. Camelo's Leopoldo Jacinto Ochagavia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dinei Meireles in the 63rd minute of play. Luiz Fábio Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. When Edmílson Tavares came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Inhumas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmílson Tavares couldn't finish the play. Sebastião Neves struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Arnaldo Duarte didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Camelo. A collision led to Inhumas getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Fellipe Vergílio hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Inhumas's zone, Sebastião Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnaldo Duarte came out of the goal and Sebastião Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
