In the 3rd minute, Cariacica's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dito Lago fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Dantas booed when Cariacica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albertino Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Luís Gustavo Martins left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cariacica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of Dantas booed when Cariacica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Dito Lago came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Dantas fans jumped to their feet. Gabriel Saraiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Júnior da Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dito Lago in the 24th minute of play forced Cariacica's goalkeeper Júnior da Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Luís Gustavo Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júnior da Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dito Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, Renan Meirelles notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Dantas's Erik da Mata. Erik da Mata was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Jacinto de Brito's late challenge caught a Cariacica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacinto de Brito helped the player get up and apologised. Jacinto de Brito hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dantas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Silvinho Bertassi was slow to take the kick. During this time Cariacica's players had a chance to rest. Cariacica's Silvinho Bertassi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Erik da Mata in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Luís Gustavo Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik da Mata having to interfere. Jacinto de Brito got his second yellow card in the match during the 89th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Dantas getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Jacinto de Brito hit a great ball. The long shot by Silvinho Bertassi in the 91st minute really tested Erik da Mata's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.
