In the 5th minute of the match, Renan Meirelles got a very nice opportunity to score, but Remo das Neves was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 8 played minutes Luís Gustavo Martins rounded Igarapiuna's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cariacica's goalkeeper Júnior da Rocha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gil Bueno kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Igarapiuna's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luís Gustavo Martins fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dráuzio Vander during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Váldson Borges lost his temper 35 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 35 minutes into the game, one of Cariacica:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Renan Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo das Neves having to interfere. Lauro Ribeiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Remo das Neves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lauro Ribeiro ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Cariacica booed when Igarapiuna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Giovanni Vidal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Igarapiuna's zone, Renan Meirelles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remo das Neves came out of the goal and Renan Meirelles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruninho Prado's late challenge caught a Cariacica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruninho Prado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 55th minute, Bruninho Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 56 minutes into the match, Igarapiuna's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Meirelles came free, but Remo das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Giovanni Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 64 minutes into the match, Elder Cavalcante notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Cariacica's Júnior da Rocha. Júnior da Rocha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 80 played minutes Cariacica got a freekick which was hit by Antônio Melo. In the 83rd minute Giovanni Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júnior da Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 91 minutes, Renan Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cariacica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renan Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
