Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vistruario Torres started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Barcelona's zone, Silvério Gaúcho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emílio Ceresso came out of the goal and Silvério Gaúcho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. F.C. Barcelona's Emílio Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvério Gaúcho in the 12th minute of play. Hernani Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vistruario Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C. Laerte da Cunha shot from long distance in the 35th minute, but Hernani Fontes was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. F.C. Barcelona's Emílio Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvério Gaúcho in the 38th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Betinho de Queirós's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emílio Ceresso was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. The supporters of Roma booed when F.C. Barcelona was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 44 played minutes, Roma's Paulão Bezerra shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emílio Ceresso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Roma reached it.

Emílio Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betinho de Queirós in the 52nd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, Roma's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Paraense came free, but Hernani Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlinhos Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Fontes having to interfere. After having played for 61 minutes, Fernando Paraense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Barcelona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernando Paraense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vistruario Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Hernani Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the game, Luís Fabiano Queiroz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Roma's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. Barcelona the free kick. A collision led to Roma getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Queiroz hit a great ball. Hernani Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlinhos Lara in the 66th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Rômulo Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 71 played minutes F.C. Barcelona got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fábio Cardoso. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Elano Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roma's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emílio Ceresso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th match minute, Roma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rômulo Amorim to maneuver through the defense. After 83 played minutes, F.C. Barcelona's Laerte da Cunha shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hernani Fontes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in F.C. Barcelona reached it. With a little luck, F.C. Barcelona's Emílio Ceresso got control of the ball when Silvério Gaúcho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hernani Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlinhos Lara in the 90th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Betinho de Queirós got free with Emílio Ceresso in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Laerte da Cunha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hernani Fontes. Roma's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The F.C. Barcelona fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Roma were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
