In the 24th minute Adrianinho da Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho de Castro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basílio Quintal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olívio Motta in the 27th minute of the match. Rubinho de Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Dantas in the 30th minute of play. Frank Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. When Abel Dantas came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Cangoritgo SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Dantas couldn't finish the play. If Oséias Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubinho de Castro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 99th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Luiz Neto.
