If Luís Fernando de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonsinho Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonsinho Vale in the 8th minute of play forced Cacauzinho's goalkeeper Claudinei Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafinha Galvão got free with Claudinei Seco in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 12 minutes into the game, Agenor de Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cacauzinho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Magno the free kick. Magno's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adhemar de Sousa in the 15th minute. The corner led Magno's Sebastião Dantas to fire away a dangerous shot which Claudinei Seco despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 16 minutes, Fabiano Maranhense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cacauzinho and the Magno players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Magno booed when Cacauzinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. A long shot from Adhemar de Sousa in the 17th minute of play was well struck, but Claudinei Seco made a really good save at the right post. Claudinei Seco was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Afonsinho Vale capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Afonsinho Vale really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Claudinei Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafinha Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Adriano Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséas Reis having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Afonsinho Vale put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Claudinei Seco. Hernani Tróia charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hernani Tróia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 38th match minute, Cacauzinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hernani Tróia to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Adhemar de Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Afonsinho Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Magno booed when Cacauzinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agenor de Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cacauzinho's defense didn't have a chance, in the 44th minute, when Afonsinho Vale scored to the left of an out of position Claudinei Seco, making the score, 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Claudinei Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafinha Galvão in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adriano Severo in the 61st minute of play forced Magno's goalkeeper Oséas Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Cacauzinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlinhos Rosado to maneuver through the defense. Adriano Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 66 minutes, Vito Castro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Magno and the Cacauzinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vito Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Rafinha Galvão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Claudinei Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
