An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Oliveira in the 39th minute of play forced Bacre SC's goalkeeper Raphael Eger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the game, Tarcisio de Barros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bacre SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Encarnacao SC the free kick.
