Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Válbson Pirani stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Meirelles's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Velocidade FC's Percival Vargas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ulysses Vander. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. 12 minutes into the match, Velocidade FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeu da Fonseca came free, but Válbson Pirani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Caporanga SS's Francisco Meirelles in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Velocidade FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 17th minute Percival Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulysses Vander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Róbson Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute Ademir Sarmento suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. After 22 minutes, Marcus Domingues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Velocidade FC and the Caporanga SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Velocidade FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Marcus Domingues hit a great ball. Ulysses Vander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percival Vargas in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the Velocidade FC defense, Tadeu da Fonseca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Válbson Pirani. The Velocidade FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Válbson Pirani should have stopped the shot. In the 32nd match minute, Velocidade FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percival Vargas to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 34 minutes, Tadeu da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caporanga SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeu da Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Válbson Pirani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeu da Fonseca in the 37th minute of the match. Tadeu da Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu da Fonseca in the 42nd minute of play forced Velocidade FC's goalkeeper Válbson Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Tadeu da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caporanga SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Tadeu da Fonseca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Válbson Pirani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Róbson Braga's late challenge caught a Velocidade FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Róbson Braga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute, Róbson Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tadeu da Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Velocidade FC got a freekick which was hit by Marco Silva. Caporanga SS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ronaldinho Pinho in the 54th minute. The corner ended in Ronaldinho Pinho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Velocidade FC's Válbson Pirani did a great save. Válbson Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute, Róbson Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Alessandro Bittencourt fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velocidade FC's protests and gave Alessandro Bittencourt a yellow card for diving instead. Alessandro Bittencourt hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. If Luisinho Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulysses Vander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisinho Brodel in the 73rd minute of the match. Caporanga SS were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
