Palmares SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dadá França was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The audience was convinced that Belmiro Neto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Almir Vianna was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. A collision led to Palmares SC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Chiquinho Negri hit a great ball. Pedro Freire struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Filipe Zonta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmares SC. After a defensive mix-up in Palmares SC's zone, Belmiro Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Almir Vianna came out of the goal and Belmiro Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeremias Hames charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeremias Hames the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th minute, Jeremias Hames hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Filipe Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmares SC's goalkeeper Almir Vianna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, VitoriaClube's Clemente de Barros got a free kick in the 39th minute. Filipe Zonta came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Palmares SC's Luís Cabral. But to his dismay, Luís Cabral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Belmiro Neto to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Palmares SC's Décio Ferraz got a free kick in the 53rd minute. If Luís Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Filipe Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Ademar Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Palmares SC's Almir Vianna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Belmiro Neto in the 70th minute of play. Almir Vianna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belmiro Neto in the 72nd minute of the match. The supporters of VitoriaClube booed when Palmares SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filipe Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chiquinho Negri in the 95th minute of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
