Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Juninho Linares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Digo Peixoto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juninho Linares struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Digo Peixoto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaja EC. Silas Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Digo Peixoto having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Itaja EC's Luisão Paranaense got a free kick in the 14th minute. Cléberson Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mazinho Massa in the 24th minute of play. Mazinho Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cléberson Koehler having to interfere. Flavinho Britto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cléberson Koehler firmly grabbed it by the left post. Digo Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juninho Linares in the 34th minute of play. Ara's Digo Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silas Cearense in the 40th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mazinho Massa made a kick off. Raí Macedo's late challenge caught a Ara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Raí Macedo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Itaja EC's Raí Macedo got a free kick in the 61st minute. Cléberson Koehler came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ara's Mazinho Massa. But to his dismay, Mazinho Massa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Mazinho Massa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Silas Cearense in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Digo Peixoto saved Ara from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Mazinho Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ara's supporters rose to their feet, but Mazinho Massa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cléberson Koehler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ara were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Itaja EC for a fine match.
