In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Piabanha's goalkeeper Geovanni Moraes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Donatello Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Mazinho Neto made a huge save. If Fiori Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santos F.C's Mazinho Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donatello Paiva in the 81st minute of play. The long shot by Abel Vargas in the 83rd minute really tested Geovanni Moraes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 89 minutes into the match, Santos F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Donatello Paiva came free, but Mazinho Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
