Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) EC Atletico Paulistano's Guilherme Fontes started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Pedro Luís de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emílio Hames recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Emílio Hames had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Paulo Montenegro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 20th minute. Ponteira FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 21 played minutes EC Atletico Paulistano got a freekick which was hit by Percival Araújo. In the 25th minute Zé Paulo Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Marcinho da Mata cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gustavo Neto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Ponteira FC's Bebeto Secco got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Bebeto Secco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Toninho Santana. EC Atletico Paulistano's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Emílio Hames managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ponteira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emílio Hames was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toninho Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Zé Paulo Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Ponteira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Paulo Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Zé Paulo Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Hames in the 82nd minute of play forced EC Atletico Paulistano's goalkeeper Toninho Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustavo Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guilherme Fontes in the 83rd minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Marcinho da Mata had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gustavo Neto. Ponteira FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcinho da Mata was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Bebeto Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched EC Atletico Paulistano eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
