The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilberto Dracena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Lopes having to interfere. Dagoberto Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Túlio Porto having to interfere. Mário Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Pinto FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Dracena came free, but Mário Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th match minute, Ventura EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Maria Costa to maneuver through the defense. Ventura EC's Túlio Porto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavinho Terra in the 18th minute of play. After 21 played minutes Ventura EC got a freekick which was hit by Arlindo Borges. Dagoberto Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Túlio Porto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ventura EC's Zé Pedro Nascimento got a free kick in the 27th minute. Túlio Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Tasso in the 33rd minute of the match. After 35 minutes, Gilberto Dracena made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Pinto FC's Mário Lopes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mário Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Dracena in the 78th minute of play. Matías Paulista kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Mário Lopes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Maria Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio Luiz Madureira during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th minute, one of Ventura EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ventura EC. Túlio Porto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Tasso in the 94th minute of the match.
