Fábio da Cunha who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Geovânio de Azevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Davi Aguiar struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Geovânio de Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras Piatã FC. When Reginaldo da Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Palmeiras Piatã FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reginaldo da Cunha couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Alvellos's zone, Reginaldo da Cunha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geovânio de Azevedo came out of the goal and Reginaldo da Cunha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fábio da Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Geovânio de Azevedo made a huge save. Fábio da Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elder de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ediberto Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano de Amorim in the 77th minute of the match. Palmeiras Piatã FC's Ediberto Tepedino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elder de Queiroz in the 94th minute of play. Geovânio de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginaldo da Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Palmeiras Piatã FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
