An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Aguiar in the 12th minute of play forced Redempcao EC's goalkeeper Duda Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Redempcao EC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Clemente Rosa hit a great ball. Duda Bertassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Medeiros in the 13th minute of the match. Cláudio França sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Haroldo Maciel hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Redempcao EC's Duda Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kiko Aguiar in the 24th minute of play. After 26 played minutes, Marinho's Conrado Macedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Duda Bertassi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Marinho reached it. In the 32nd minute of the match Redempcao EC got a corner. Marinho's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Guilherme Freitas ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Cristiano Mello got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jânio Pernambucano quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jânio Pernambucano was a little too slow when Clemente Rosa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-0. Gualter da Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Guilherme Freitas succeeded in the game's 38th minute to get real power on a long shot . Marinho's Jânio Pernambucano hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 2-0! Celso Medeiros blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Duda Bertassi having to make a save. 45 minutes into the game, Clemente Rosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Redempcao EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marinho the free kick. When Marinho's Kiko Aguiar, in the 46th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Marinho. Eliézer Dracena kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Cristiano Mello made the kick off in the second half. Jânio Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristiano Mello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jânio Pernambucano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio França, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Duda Bertassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kiko Aguiar in the 56th minute of play. After 82 played minutes Redempcao EC got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Dracena. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Celso Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Medeiros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duda Bertassi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jânio Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cláudio França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristiano Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jânio Pernambucano having to interfere.
