In the 10th match minute, Moraes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Andrade to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Moraes's Ediberto de Castro tried to score from far away in the 19th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, Moraes's goal looked a bit too open when Hamílton Barreto came free, but Agnaldo Cardozo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Augusto Passos hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. A collision led to Moraes getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Chiquinho Pereira hit a great ball. Hamílton Barreto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Goitizeiro FC's Hamílton Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Agnaldo Cardozo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Agnaldo Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardinho Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, Hamílton Barreto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bernardinho Brito's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Agnaldo Cardozo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Válbson Arósio hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hamílton Barreto made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Moraes's zone, Hamílton Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Agnaldo Cardozo came out of the goal and Hamílton Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luiz Fábio de Godoy hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. When Hamílton Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Goitizeiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hamílton Barreto couldn't finish the play. Bernardinho Brito who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Agnaldo Cardozo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Agnaldo Cardozo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamílton Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeremias Recife struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Agnaldo Cardozo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goitizeiro FC. Agnaldo Cardozo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardinho Brito in the 69th minute. Rafael Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Agnaldo Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hamílton Barreto in the 73rd minute of play. Conrado Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th match minute, Moraes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Leal to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hamílton Barreto in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Agnaldo Cardozo saved Moraes from getting behind. Goitizeiro FC's Décio Dracena suffered a sore thigh after 84 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Luiz Fábio de Godoy fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moraes's protests and gave Luiz Fábio de Godoy a yellow card for diving instead. Luiz Fábio de Godoy kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Bernardinho Brito who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Agnaldo Cardozo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Fernão Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hamílton Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Moraes succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Goitizeiro FC had controlled the match.
