Sabino Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. In the 13th minute Zé Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabino Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 minutes of play, Tabaqueiro AD's Walmir Fonseca made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ernesto Lara was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sabino Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Barral in the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Seb Breeden had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernesto Lara. Vitorino's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Seb Breeden was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. João Carlos Barreto hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Jeferson Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sabino Monteiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Tabaqueiro AD's goalkeeper Sabino Monteiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jeferson Carioca. In the 33rd minute Antônio Carlos Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sabino Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitorino's Ernesto Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Maria Pernambucano in the 35th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Vitorino's Antônio Carlos Perez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sabino Monteiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 47th minute of the match, Jeferson Carioca got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sabino Monteiro was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post.

The wind increased when Walmir Fonseca made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Tabaqueiro AD getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Fellipe Brito hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, Dedé Teixeira notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Tabaqueiro AD's Sabino Monteiro. Sabino Monteiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ernesto Lara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dário Favoretto in the 69th minute. When Zé Barral fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vitorino's protests and gave Zé Barral a yellow card for diving instead. Zé Barral kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Vitorino's goalkeeper Ernesto Lara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Maria Pernambucano.
