In the 4th play minute José Maria Alves came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised André Pinheiro. 1-0. Itaquarai SS's Nelson Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Nelson Moraes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simão de Souza was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. José Maria Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Itaquarai SS's André Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Catarinense in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Itaquarai SS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after José Maria Alves fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Chacorore's Celso Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nelson Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão de Souza having to interfere. Betinho de Lara kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 30th minute, Manfredo Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If José Maria Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th match minute, Itaquarai SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deivid Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. 44 minutes into the match, Itaquarai SS's Ricardo Torres sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Simão de Souza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. José Maria Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nelson Moraes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If José Maria Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ricardo Torres came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Itaquarai SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Torres couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute Nelson Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão de Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Itaquarai SS's zone, José Maria Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Pinheiro came out of the goal and José Maria Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rdth minute of the game Nelson Moraes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chacorore's Simão de Souza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celso Catarinense in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg André Pinheiro saved Itaquarai SS from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, José Maria Alves put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of André Pinheiro. If José Maria Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chacorore's Celso Catarinense got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Itaquarai SS booed when Chacorore was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Ferraz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Itaquarai SS's Hernani Bittencourt tried to score from far away in the 98th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the Chacorore players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
