The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. C.'s protests and gave Didi Queiroz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, A. G. C.'s Didi Queiroz got a free kick in the 12th minute. 13 minutes into the match, A. G. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when César Cunha came free, but Jardel Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Renato Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. A hard shot by Alfredão de Andrade from long distance, 37 minutes into the match, got Léo Reis's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Cleiton França came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the A. G. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cleiton França couldn't finish the play. Areao AD's Léo Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisão do Valle in the 41st minute of play. Jardel Monteiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cleiton França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Léo Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisão do Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the game, Otávio de Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Areao AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A. G. C. the free kick. The supporters of A. G. Areao AD's Léo Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gildo de Lara in the 60th minute of play. Tibúrcio Mesquita made in the 63rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by A. G. C.'s Paulo Renato Sanches. Jardel Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cafu Berger, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute.
