Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Arrelia EC's Hernani de Almeida started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Arrelia EC's goalkeeper Frank Pitta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Charqueadas SS's zone, Hernani de Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jefferson Albuquerque came out of the goal and Hernani de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Charqueadas SS booed when Arrelia EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serginho Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sérgio Ortiz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jano Gaspar in the 14th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Sérgio Ortiz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frank Pitta was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. 18 minutes into the match, Arrelia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Jano Gaspar came free, but Frank Pitta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jefferson Albuquerque showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernani de Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cido de Brito during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dário Dracena, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Hernani de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson Albuquerque having to interfere. Dário Dracena kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After 38 played minutes Arrelia EC got a freekick which was hit by Cido de Brito. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sérgio Ortiz in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frank Pitta saved Arrelia EC from getting behind. Sérgio Ortiz succeeded in the game's 43rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. 47 minutes into the game, Hernani de Almeida recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jefferson Albuquerque. Hernani de Almeida showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Jano Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Sérgio Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dênis Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson Albuquerque having to interfere. Arrelia EC's Dênis Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dênis Lara struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Jefferson Albuquerque didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arrelia EC. When Sérgio Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Charqueadas SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sérgio Ortiz couldn't finish the play. After 84 played minutes Arrelia EC got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Senna. Dário Dracena was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 85th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the match, Arrelia EC's goalkeeper Frank Pitta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sérgio Ortiz. If Sérgio Ortiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Arrelia EC's goal looked a bit too open when Jano Gaspar came free, but Frank Pitta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 92 played minutes Jano Gaspar rounded Arrelia EC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. 97 minutes into the match, Charqueadas SS's Jano Gaspar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frank Pitta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cido de Brito hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. 99 minutes into the match, Charqueadas SS's Dário Dracena broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Charqueadas SS walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
