The audience was convinced that Kléberson Queiroz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raimundo Ramalho was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. After 11 minutes, Raimundo Penha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pontalinda and the NEW CITY SPORT CLUB players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half Pontalinda were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valério Salles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Raimundo Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafa Bueno in the 52nd minute of play. Raimundo Ramalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Coelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Pontalinda getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Rafa Bueno hit a great ball. Manoel Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Ramalho having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Pontalinda's Kléberson Queiroz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Raimundo Ramalho. That made the score 0-3 after 67 minutes of play. Raimundo Ramalho made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Manoel Britto sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Kléberson Queiroz took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Raimundo Ramalho to make any attempt to save it. 77 minutes into the match, Manoel Britto notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of NEW CITY SPORT CLUB's Raimundo Ramalho. Raimundo Ramalho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, NEW CITY SPORT CLUB's Raimundo Ramalho got control of the ball when Angelo Coelho tried to sneak it across the goal line.
