Laviai's Edmundo Meireles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Laviai from getting a goal against them. Dadá Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundo Meireles having to interfere. Samuca Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Edmundo Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 19 played minutes Maribu got a freekick which was hit by Dadá Teles. 23 minutes into the match, Maribu's goal looked a bit too open when Arlindo Prestes came free, but Luiz Gustavo Lara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maribu's Luiz Gustavo Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arlindo Prestes in the 32nd minute of play. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Edmundo Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuca Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuca Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Laviai's Cláudio Madureira got a free kick in the 55th minute. When João Pedro Valladares fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maribu's protests and gave João Pedro Valladares a yellow card for diving instead. After 65 played minutes Maribu got a freekick which was hit by João Pedro Valladares. Ian Carvalho might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Gustavo Lara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ian Carvalho ran back to his position shaking his head. Samuca Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laviai's supporters rose to their feet, but Elói do Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Gustavo Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maribu's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
