The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Capoeiral's Lenílson Castro got a free kick in the 11th minute. Murilo Teles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arlindo Prestes went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Hernani Saldanha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Laviai's goal looked a bit too open when David Braga came free, but Edmundo Meireles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Braga scored 1-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmundo Meireles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 33rd minute, David Braga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes into the game, Gugu Schmidt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laviai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capoeiral the free kick. The referee gave Capoeiral a penalty, 38 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lenílson Castro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Laviai's Edmundo Meireles. 1-2. After 41 played minutes Laviai got a freekick which was hit by Elói do Nascimento. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Saldanha in the 42nd minute of play forced Laviai's goalkeeper Edmundo Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmundo Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernani Saldanha, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After the first half Capoeiral were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when David Braga made the kick off in the second half. Hernani Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Edmundo Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmundo Meireles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Braga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Murilo Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ian Carvalho in the 56th minute of play. Ian Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murilo Teles having to interfere. Murilo Teles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arlindo Prestes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as David Braga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edmundo Meireles. That made the score 1-3 in the 65 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, David Braga took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Edmundo Meireles to make any attempt to save it. Edmundo Meireles made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Hernani Saldanha sent off a good shot on target. If Hernani Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, Arlindo Prestes notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Capoeiral's Murilo Teles. Murilo Teles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Capoeiral's Murilo Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Carvalho in the 92nd minute of play.
