When Benjamin Brito came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Oquiniguia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Brito couldn't finish the play. Valdir Figueiredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulão da Silveira in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 55th minute Benjamin Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durvalino Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Oquiniguia FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of C. R. Flamengo:s goal. Tomás do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Figueiredo having to interfere. In the 65thth minute of the game Paulão da Silveira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Oquiniguia FC's Valdir Figueiredo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Paulão da Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Reinaldo de Brito blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durvalino Barral having to make a save. After 73 played minutes C. R. Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Toscano. Thanks to some nice moves Tomás do Nascimento could shoot a difficult shot in the 78th minute, which Valdir Figueiredo however easily saved by the left post. If Paulão da Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomás do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Figueiredo having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched C. R. Flamengo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
