After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Luís da Mata managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mojeiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís da Mata was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilvan Botelho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Raimundo Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 10 minutes Mojeiro's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcos Coelho who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Umarituba's corner Marcos Coelho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Naldo Toscano quite easily take care of the ball. Luís da Mata struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Gilvan Botelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mojeiro. Sílvio Luís Vidal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilvan Botelho having to make a save. The Umarituba fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mojeiro were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
