After having played for 16 minutes, Pedrinho Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CARDAN FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedrinho Magalhães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Márcio Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélder Munhoz in the 31st minute of the match. Hélder Munhoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márcio Fonseca having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Leonel Breckenfeld managed to get in a good position for a shot. PILOTS's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Breckenfeld was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Márcio Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Délio Lopes struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Márcio Fonseca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PILOTS. Márcio Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Breckenfeld in the 39th minute of play. CARDAN FC's Márcio Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Breckenfeld in the 40th minute of play. After a rather tough play, CARDAN FC's Egídio Mineiro got a free kick in the 41st minute. Luizinho da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Paulo Oliveira in the 47th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of CARDAN FC booed when PILOTS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 55 minutes PILOTS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Egídio Mineiro who took care of the corner kick. CARDAN FC's Egídio Mineiro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luizinho da Silveira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Márcio Fonseca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 minutes, Leonel Breckenfeld made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. CARDAN FC's Márcio Fonseca tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, CARDAN FC's Márcio Fonseca got control of the ball when Hélder Munhoz tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonel Breckenfeld in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Márcio Fonseca saved CARDAN FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrinho Magalhães in the 77th minute of play forced PILOTS's goalkeeper Luizinho da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PILOTS's Luizinho da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrinho Magalhães in the 79th minute of play. Leonel Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélder Munhoz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Márcio Fonseca having to make a save. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Breckenfeld couldn't finish the play. Hélder Munhoz took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Márcio Fonseca. Márcio Fonseca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After having played for 96 minutes, Jonathan Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CARDAN FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Aguiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
