The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Durvalino Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fábio Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Geovani Dantas in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cristian Rossi saved Papai voltou from getting behind. Geovani Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Cristian Rossi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 11 in the game by Richard Motta from a close distance when the talented Cristian Rossi managed to make a qualified save. Papai voltou's players were relieved. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Papai voltou:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cibauma EC:s goal. The referee gave Cibauma EC a penalty, 16 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ciro Moreno, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Papai voltou's Cristian Rossi. 1-0. If Richard Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 played minutes Papai voltou got a freekick which was hit by Ernani Amorim. Richard Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Rossi having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Richard Motta got free with Cristian Rossi in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Geovani Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Rossi having to interfere. Vladimir Paes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Fernandez having to interfere. After having played for 39 minutes, Geovani Dantas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cibauma EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovani Dantas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Cibauma EC's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino Brasil came free, but Fábio Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cibauma EC's zone, Vladimir Paes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fábio Fernandez came out of the goal and Vladimir Paes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Geovani Dantas made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durvalino Brasil in the 55th minute of play forced Cibauma EC's goalkeeper Fábio Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Cibauma EC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. João Augusto Ramalho hit a great ball. Percival Lago shot a long shot in the 59th minute and a light blocked Fábio Fernandez hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-1. Papai voltou's Vladimir Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovani Dantas in the 66th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Cibauma EC's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino Brasil came free, but Fábio Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Durvalino Brasil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papai voltou's supporters rose to their feet, but Durvalino Brasil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fábio Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 73 minutes, Durvalino Brasil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Papai voltou and the Cibauma EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Papai voltou's Durvalino Brasil got a free kick in the 74th minute. If Geovani Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the game, Richard Motta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Cristian Rossi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Richard Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Rossi having to interfere. After 97 played minutes Papai voltou got a freekick which was hit by Ernani Amorim. After recieving a nice pass, Cibauma EC's Ciro Moreno tried to score from far away in the 98th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Cibauma EC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
