Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Geovani Velloso started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Favoretto in the 5th minute of play forced Sporting's goalkeeper Joel Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cacá da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Joel Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Geovani Velloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovani Velloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fiori Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arí Quirino hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Joel Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cacá da Costa in the 19th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manoel Catarinense in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Catarinense saved Sporting from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Carlos Queirós during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cataguarinho SS booed when Sporting was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Carlos Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cipriano de Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Fiori Quirino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sporting. When Sporting's Geovani Velloso in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cataguarinho SS's goalie prevented a goal. When Arí Quirino fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cataguarinho SS's protests and gave Arí Quirino a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Cataguarinho SS's Arí Quirino got a free kick in the 34th minute. The long shot by Gabriel de Castro in the 35th minute really tested Fiori Quirino's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 40 minutes into the match, Sporting's goal looked a bit too open when Cacá da Costa came free, but Joel Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cacá da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Catarinense having to interfere.

The wind increased when Cacá da Costa made the kick off in the second half. Arí Quirino got his second yellow card in the match during the 54th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Sporting booed when Cataguarinho SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arí Quirino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Cataguarinho SS's zone, Geovani Velloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fiori Quirino came out of the goal and Geovani Velloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sporting's Joel Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cacá da Costa in the 63rd minute of play. Joel Catarinense came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by Cataguarinho SS's Manoel Catarinense. But to his dismay, Manoel Catarinense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Manoel Catarinense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Joel Catarinense made a huge save. 72 minutes into the match, Sporting's goalkeeper Joel Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Manoel Catarinense. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting's zone, Manoel Catarinense stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Catarinense came out of the goal and Manoel Catarinense tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 77th play minutes Manoel Catarinense shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Joel Catarinense and just under the crossbar into goal. After 81 minutes of play, Cataguarinho SS's Manoel Catarinense made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joel Catarinense was left in no man's land by his defense there! 84 minutes into the match, Cataguarinho SS's goal looked a bit too open when Geovani Velloso came free, but Fiori Quirino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Catarinense made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Manoel Catarinense sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Sporting's Joel Catarinense got control of the ball when Jairo Favoretto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manoel Catarinense was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. Cataguarinho SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 95 played minutes Cacá da Costa rounded Sporting's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. Cataguarinho SS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
