Rafa Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chapecoense. Tião Favoretto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rafa Silveira. Guigos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Chapecoense's goal looked a bit too open when Vito Peixoto came free, but Cido Alagoano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Chapecoense's Cido Alagoano got control of the ball when Zé Paulo Gerber tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Vito Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee gave Guigos a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Francisco Quirino, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Chapecoense's Cido Alagoano. 1-0. In the 33rd minute, Chapecoense's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Vito Peixoto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 37 minutes in the game, Zé Paulo Gerber dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After a rather tough play, Chapecoense's Vladimir Arantes got a free kick in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vito Peixoto in the 41st minute of play forced Chapecoense's goalkeeper Cido Alagoano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Zé Paulo Gerber ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cido Alagoano was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If Vladimir Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cléberson Leite in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafa Silveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Cléberson Leite made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléberson Leite in the 53rd minute of play forced Guigos's goalkeeper Rafa Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Guigos's Vito Peixoto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cido Alagoano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vito Peixoto took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cido Alagoano. Cido Alagoano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 60 minutes into the match, Vito Peixoto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cido Alagoano. Chapecoense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vito Peixoto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. When Vladimir Miranda came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Chapecoense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vladimir Miranda couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cléberson Leite in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafa Silveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Vito Peixoto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Claudinho Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zé Paulo Gerber might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cido Alagoano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Paulo Gerber ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Vito Peixoto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cido Alagoano was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vito Peixoto in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cido Alagoano saved Chapecoense from getting behind. If Zé Paulo Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute Vito Peixoto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cido Alagoano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chapecoense's Cido Alagoano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vito Peixoto in the 96th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chapecoense players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Guigos.
