João Vítor Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo de Godoy having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by João Vítor Lucas in the 52nd minute of play forced Matias SC's goalkeeper Remo de Godoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristóvão de Amaral who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Remo de Godoy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nuno Botelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino do Valle in the 57th minute of play. Cristóvão de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remo de Godoy having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evandro Machado during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cristóvão de Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Remo de Godoy having to make a save. Cristóvão de Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
